Walking Dead is an emotional game where you'll easily fall in love and love to hate certain characters. Rarely do you see this type of relationship in games, stories or even television shows. Walking Dead was heralded as one of the most emotional video games in history, and as you witness Lee taking on the role of a father figure and protecting an abandoned child, you'll agree. But if you think the game is heavy on visuals and short on emotion, think again. The video game has the same comic graphics appeal that's in the original comic book series. Walking Dead also has a unique appearance that complements its place of origin. Players also have the option of talking to other characters in the game, but unlike with some other video games, where your character responds back with preset words, your Walking Dead character, Lee, responds back with a comment or question selected from a menu of options. Walking Dead has a very distinctive control: the QTE (Quick Time Event) that operates with point and click interaction and independent movement.
You have no idea what happened or why, making this particular game interesting to play. When the rolling stops, you emerge from the car in a dazed, confused and injured state. All of a sudden, the car hits and runs over a zombie, or "a walker," and the police car flips and rolls around uncontrollably. As you ride and make small conversation with the driver, you notice additional police cars traveling in the opposite direction.
As the player, you're the character Lee Everett, a man who's being driven to prison in the back of a police car in Georgia. When you hear the phrase "Walking Dead," you probably think of the television show, right? If you did, you wouldn't be too off the mark because "Walking Dead," the television show, is based off "Walking Dead," the comic book, the source of "Walking Dead," the video game.
